Fromager
Since joining the Artisanal family in 2003, Waldemar has continued to lead the industry with his remarkable palate and charisma. He brings passion for all things cheese to his popular classes at the Cheese Center and beyond. Charismatic and vivacious, Waldemar has appeared on Sirius radio's Eat and Drink program and on PBS national television. His cheese expertise has been featured in Martha Stewart Living Magazine.
Last year Waldemar was featured on "Cheese Slices," the internationally renowned fromagere Will Studd's Autralian television series. Born in Venezuela, Waldemar lived in Spain and San Francisco before making his way to New York City, As cheese department manager, cheese buyer, employee trainer, and seminar lecturer at the Bay Area's renowned Market Hall Foods, his knowledge and reputation attracted the attention of fellow American Cheese Society member Daphne Zepos and led him to Artisanal, where he managed the acclaimed fromagerie for three years. Currently, Waldemar and his business partner Nadia Muna Gil spearhead their new company, Waldemar and Nadia.
